Carbon Seat Rail and Seat Clamp Compatibility:

Non-carbon saddles are typically made with 7mm round rails that are compatible with most standard seat clamps. Carbon saddles, on the other hand, use an oval rail that is 7mm wide and 9mm high.

To mount your carbon saddle you will need a seat clamp that supports this specific 7×9 configuration.

There are two types of seat clamps that work:

1. Clamps that attach to the top and bottom of the rail: This type of clamp is standard on many new bikes and can accommodate both round and oval saddle rails.
2. Side clamps measuring 7mm x 9mm: These clamps are specifically designed for the oval shape of carbon saddle rails.

Please make sure you get one of these two types of seat clamps before receiving your carbon saddle. A traditional 7mm side clamp will not be compatible with the oval rails of a carbon saddle.

For smooth installation and optimal performance, it is important to choose the right seat clamp.

How to choose the right saddle:

Before you make your choice, only three simple steps stand between you and a smooth driving experience.

1. Find out the reason for discomfort: For those new to cycling, determining the cause of discomfort while riding can be challenging. Before you blame your original saddle, check the height and angle of your saddle.

Adjust the saddle horizontally and in the middle of the seat post. Adjust the height of the saddle so that your leg is straight when you place your heel on the pedal. For efficient pedaling, your knee should be slightly bent when you place your feet on the pedal.

Turn the saddle in and ride several times, whether long or short. If you are still uncomfortable, a new saddle could be the solution.

2. Know your own body: To choose a new saddle, it's important to know the flexibility of your upper body and the width of your sit bones.

If you have a flexible upper body posture, you can choose a flat saddle. If you have average flexibility, a corrugated saddle may be more suitable.

The width of your sit bones is crucial for choosing the optimal saddle width. Measure your width while sitting upright, as the position of the sit bones can change as you bend over.

3. Know your own driving style: Consider your riding style when choosing a saddle. For upright positions, a flat saddle with the width of your actual sit bones is suitable. At more aggressive angles, a wider saddle width may be required due to the lower body position.
